Spreadsheet Modeling and Decision Analysis (with CD-ROM and Microsoft Project 2003 120 day version)

The book is OK. It is thorough in the chapter as how 2 implement the models in excel. That can be fun if you like 2 set up & solve problems. The only thing about the text is the problems in the back of each chapter. The problems would be very hard 2 solve, because the problems are not exactly how the set up is within the chapter.

When I was in class & was given homework problems, it was very difficult in determining the set up. When the class saw they answers the next class they were different than the set up in the chapter. Don't expect the answers 2 be like the chapter. There is always some other additions 2 the model or it may be set up a different way. It might be appropriate 2 ask the professor 2 go over some problems in class so you can gain a clearer understanding of Operations Modeling.

This book was received in a timely fashion & Amazon is continuing 2 make sure their customers are completely satisfied.

This book does what it sets out 2 do: teach spreadsheet modeling. I'm only on the third chapter, but the author does a good job including step by step instructions on how 2 create winning models. The author is also very easy 2 understand. So if you're going 2 be doing optimization & modeling in your work, I highly recommend this book.

Ragsdale really makes spreadsheet modeling accessible 2 real-world business situations. It was a great asset 2 my MBA coursework. As a student, it came with a free student version of @RISK risk analysis software as well.
