    Access 2007 The Missing Manual
This is one of the best technical manuals I have read. Everything is easy 2 find & easy 2 understand. I have several manuals where you spend hours trying 2 find the answer 2 a question only 2 be frustrated in either not finding the answer or the answer being so vague that it makes no sense. This book does not do that; answers are both understandable AND quick 2 find. I highly recommend this book.

    Still missing
I'm not a complete newbie 2 Access or 2 database design, but I would still qualify as a beginner. This manual spent too much time on things I already know how 2 do (like set up a table with basic relationships) & not enough on the things I have not quite figured out (like how 2 create subforms that pop up at helpful intervals).

I bought this Missing Manual after having a really good experience with the Missing Manual 2 Dreamweaver CS3, but while the Dreamweaver book had helpful step-by-step tutorials 2 cover concepts that would apply 2 a wide range of websites, this book seemed 2 only cover the specific case of building a customer/sales database.

    Excellent!
This book is perfect 4 the novice. It guides you 2 the key components 4 MS Access without all the "techie" language. It also points out informative tips & clues 2 improve your database. This is specific 4 2007, which really does make a difference since the security features have changed dramatically. There is a website 4 the examples. It is easy 2 download. The book states you have access 2 the online version or a CD of the book. This is misleading. There is one available but it requires you 2 sign up 4 it.

Easy access 2 the infomartion I need
I bought this book 2 go straight 2 the information I need when I need it. It is well organized & clear. Would recommend.

Compared 2 industrial-strength database products such as Microsoft's SQL Server, Access is a breeze 2 use. It runs on PCs rather than servers & is ideal 4 small- 2 mid-sized businesses & households. But Access is still intimidating 2 learn. It doesn't help that each new version crammed in yet another set of features; so many, in fact, that even the pros don't know where 2 find them all. Access 2007 breaks this pattern with some of the most dramatic changes users have seen since Office 95. Most obvious is the thoroughly redesigned user interface, with its tabbed toolbar (or "Ribbon") that makes features easy 2 locate & use. The features list also includes several long-awaited changes. One thing that hasn't improved is Microsoft's documentation. To learn the ins & outs of all the features in Access 2007, Microsoft merely offers online help.

Access 2007: The Missing Manual was written from the ground up 4 this redesigned application. You will learn how 2 design complete databases, maintain them, search 4 valuable nuggets of information, & build attractive forms 4 quick-and-easy data entry. You'll even delve into the black art of Access programming (including macros & Visual Basic), & pick up valuable tricks & techniques 2 automate common tasks -- even if you've never touched a line of code before. You will also learn all about the new prebuilt databases you can customize 2 fit your needs, & how the new complex data feature will simplify your life. With plenty of downloadable examples, this objective & witty book will turn an Access neophyte into a true master.
