Well written & thorough. I learned a lot of things that I would not have known had I just relied on the Adobe manual & books.
Rating: 5 of 5 excellent
Clear, concise & 2 the point. The author is direct & plain spoken; the book is thorough & contains lots of tips & tricks.
Rating: 1 of 5 Worthless
I was hoping 4 at least a few templates in the CD part of the book. Templates allow one 2 explore the funcionality of the program & expand on one's knowledge, if any. I was very dissapointed. There are NO TEMPLATES IN THIS BOOK!
Rating: 5 of 5 Great Reading! Helpful, To-The-Point, & Comprehensive.
I have bought & read dozens of computer books 4 various programs. Nobody does it like Nigel! I actually read this manual cover 2 cover & couldn't put it down. His writing is personable & witty, his organization is "intuitively correct" (just as you are thinking a question, he gives you the answer), & his tips & tactics are SO HELPFUL! PageMaker was very intimidating 2 me because I was used 2 amateur programs that do most functions automatically. No offense 2 Aldus, but their manual made things worse. It was confusing & assumed that I knew things I didn't. Nigel was exactly the teacher I needed. I learned PageMaker's functions easily & even learned how 2 deal with tricky issues as they arise. I highly recommend this book 2 anyone who owns PageMaker or is thinking of buying it. Even if you already know the program, I bet you'll learn some great time-savers & handy tricks from this manual.
P.S. The CDROM at the back has some cool programs that enhance PageMaker. Well worth the $$$!
A guide, 4 any level of user, on how 2 exploit the newest version of Pagemaker 4 Windows. Includes CD-ROM.
