Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 11th Edition thumb-notched with Win/Mac CD-ROM and Online Subscription

The dictionary is a good one as usual. The index tabs are not exactly where they should be. Maybe they can not fix it because of limited space. Maybe Amazon can ask them.

We needed this 4 our 7th grader's reading class. It had 2 be this name brand & we decided 2 use the online option 2 buy it since it is cheaper than the stores were in our area.

Nobody puts out a better dictionary than Merriam-Webster. The Collegiate is my pick because one of my hobbies is the Over-50 Spelling Bee, & this dictionary is the reference source 4 that competition. The Elementary edition is what I use in my classroom. The Unabridged is what I subscribe 2 on the Web. I wouldn't buy any other company's dictionary because this book & its publisher can trace their roots back 2 the original Noah Webster who first recognized the uniqueness of American English.

This a great resource 4 students( or anyone else, but students will get the most out of it). My mom had the 8th version or so in about 1995. The CD is great 2 quickly look up words & you can incorporate it into word processing programs like microsoft word.

Super great 4 my grandson when he is doing his homework. Really helps alot.
