In this first new & totally revised edition of the 150,000-copy underground bestseller, The E-Myth, Michael Gerber dispels the myths surrounding starting your own business & shows how commonplace assumptions can get in the way of running a business. He walks you through the steps in the life of a business from entrepreneurial infancy, through adolescent growing pains, to the mature entrepreneurial perspective, the guiding light of all businesses that succeed. He then shows how to apply the lessons of franchising to any business—whether or not it is a franchise. Finally, Gerber draws the vital, often overlooked distinction between working on your business & working in. your business. After you have read The E-Myth Revisited, you will truly be able to grow your business in a predictable & productive way.
I am sure this book sold 1 million copies only because of its title & not the content.
Reasons:
1. Authors language & narration is the worst ever.
2. It is written 4 those who don't understand business (example one who bakes pie is not necessarily educated or has business degree)
3. The book is very misleading 4 entrepreneurs & the most de-motivating book ever.
4. This book is written from negative standpoint, people generally need encouragement which is hard to find in this book unless you really want to believe this author & fail in your business.
5. I am okay with franchisee business model, however the the way author presented this case makes be do the opposite i.e to never ever own a franchisee.
Let me say this: Don't ever buy this book, I got this one free from person trying to sell me franchise business & now I hate them 4 giving me this stupid book.
Why would you trust this review: I have studied Masters in Business Administration & I understand right & wrong approach to small & large business. There are thousands of good books on business & this is the worst ever.
