Rogue Leader
My 14 yr old loves this game. He recently chose 2 use a monthly free movie/game coupon, that came with the gamecube, 4 a movie instead because he said he knew he'd want 2 play this game the most anyway.

Not a great buy
I was a fan of the first installment of Rogue Squadron, but I'm not impressed with where the series has gone. The main problem 4 me is visibility: TIE fighters are tiny & almost impossible 2 see (especially in space battles), making taking them too much of a challenge. They added a targeting computer feature that helps a bit, but you lose points the longer you use the targeting computer.

Overall, I found portions of this game 2 be fun, but they need 2 brighten up the graphics 2 make it more playable.

Hard, but a great game!
This game is a great game but it is kind of hard. It has great graphics & sound. You can either play as Wedge Antellies or Luke Skywalker. Pretty good combination if you ask me! There are a bunch of unlockable ships so the replay value is great. There are also medals & points you earn at the end of each level on how good you do (bronze, silver,or gold medals) & you can unlock "secret" levelswith those points. There are also different views of the ship you are in, such as third person & cockpit views so you feel like you are in the game not just playing it! I would give it five stars but it is pretty hard (which is probably a good thing). Anyway, great game, buy it, you won't regret it.

Good shooting game!
I love this game with the missions espaiclly the Battle of Endor because there are many tie fighters 2 shoot & you have 2 shoot tie bombers. The mission that is hard is Strike of the Core, because you have 2 protect the Millemiun Falcon all the time by the tie fighters. It's great game 4 shooting experts.

In The Minority I Guess
Let me state from the get go that I am a huge Star Wars fan. I remember seeing the original Star Wars in the theaters (sans the "Episode IV" tag line) in 1977. Sadly, the Rogue Squadron series, in my opinion, has been a disappointment.

The Positives. Graphically, there is probably not a better presentation on any home console 2 date. I love the overlaying of graphics with original movie footage. The detail it provides is amazing 4 the current generation of consoles. The sound presentation is also spot on. The sound effects of the films are accurately represented & give a genuine feel of wild dogfights in space.

Sadly, it is the dogfigts that ultimately doomed this game & the series 4 me. Too often I found myself lost in space not knowing where 2 go or what exactly 2 do. I often had trouble reading the scope at the top of the screen, would find myself flying sideways, or flying 2 far away from the action & then having the game reset my position. Appearantly I relied too much on the targeting computer (since I couldn't see anything) & would then be penalized 4 it.

The final nails in the coffin? Taking down AT-ATs (again) & those cursed escort missions! I just can't handle having 2 babysit poor CPU A.I. while having 2 fend off hordes of TIEs & other assorted Imperial weaponry. No thank you.

In my opinion, in the console market, the best Star Wars are Battlefront, Battlefront 2, & Knights of the Old Republic. The Battlefront series has a much better Star Wars feel of battle & Knights of the Old Republic has an amazing storyline. If you have a PS2 & Xbox (for Knights) I suggest these three classics. If you all have is a Gamecube & you want 2 play Star Wars, well, have fun . . . .

In Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II, you'll take on the role of Luke Skywalker & engage in some of the fiercest battles in the Star Wars trilogy
