A Game Only UFC Fans Should Check Out
UFC Throwdown is a decent game i had some spare cash & decided 2 purchase it. The game isnt that great i mean it's not bad either but it has alot of flaws. You cant fight up against the fence wich sucks, there aren't that many fighters. If your a BIG UFC fan then you should get it but if your not than your not missing out. Im a big mma fan but this game could be better i recommmend that you purchase UFC Sudden Impact, PRIDE Fc, & K-1 Grand Prix all 4 the PS2 they are better mma games than UFC Throwdown

    Yeah this game sucks!
This game was fun right until the intro ended, everything else in this game was terrible.

    Basic, but entertaining.
This game comes off as the first step in what could be a promising future 4 mixed martial arts video games. The controls are very basic, even overly simple. Your fighters actions are limited, the stand-up fighting is good, but the submition fighting & ground-and-pound are terribly simplistic. It takes a short time 2 get the hang of the controls, but the game can be mastered in about half an hour, & after that it is incredibly repetitive. No matter how good you are at the game, you inevitably lose one out of every ten or so fights by getting caught in a random submition. Good groundwork 4 future games of the same type, but 4 now (overall) not captivating, but entertaining 4 mixed martial arts fans who have some time 2 kill (and don't want 2 kill it in the gym). I couldn't see playing this game 4 more than half an hour at a time, once a week, & only that often thanks 2 the inclusion of Bas Rutten. War Bas. War.

Better then UFC 1 but still lacks
This games cool. My friends cousin is in the game. (Pete William) The graphics are pretty good. The modes are better then the first one. But my compaint is the same as the first one. Matches end way 2 quickly. I want more of a stragetic sim game engine involved. Why don't ground battles last 10 minutes or longer? It still feels like a button masher game. The moves are hard 2 pull off. The create a character mode is way too shallow. The games cool 4 a while but lacks replay value unless your fighting another live person..

    Realistic Fighting
This is my favorite fighting game I have played. It combines striking with wrestling, letting you beat an opponent if you are skilled enough, even when you are about 2 get knocked out. Every fighter has his own patented moves & style, adding 2 the diversity of the game. My friends & I never get tired of the bone crunching hits & submissions. Unlocking new moves & fighters keeps things interesting while playing solo. If you want the most realistic way of beating people - without actually doing it, get UFC throwdown.
