Tetris Worlds

For new causal gamers who never played Tetris before, this is quite good. However, 4 those trying 2 relive memories from the past, I didn't think it was anything special. The graphics are better, but I miss the block-style from before & the old music. The music is all new techno & none of the old. The menus & multi-player seem quite unpolished. I haven't played the single-player form though.

This game is super lame. I played it 4 all of 5 minutes & then put it in its case & haven't looked at it since. It's really boring, & the levels suck. It's just tetris, there's nothing more, & it's really easy & boring. I bought it 4 1/3 of the price listed on amazon & I still hate it. Go with something else.

I was really excited when I purchased our xbox 2 see that Tetris was one of the free games that came with our system. This was the first game I played on the xbox & I was not impressed. I have played tetris on just about every console that made this game. I always liked it & loved 2 play Tetris. My expectations of this game was the graphics would be great & it would have lots of new things added 2 it....wrong! The game is very hard 2 see, they have a tiny screen 4 the game play & a background on the sides- why??? If they would have made this game full screen I might have given it a better review. I have a 36' tv & I can hardly see 2 play this game! My husband also complained about this. Not a good choice, but it was free, so who can complain too much?

"Tetrisphere" came out 4 the Nintendo 64 back in 1997. In my mind, it is still the gold standard 4 Tetris games. H2O tinkered with the extremely addictive puzzle game & took a big chance with it. The developers made the game 3D & risked alienating a lot of video game enthusiasts by tampering with a proven formula. Instead, the title was a big success & showed that a popular game can be dramatically changed without losing any of its fun factor.

With that said...this game plays it too safe & is only fun 4 a few hours. Three of the Tetris variations included have already been seen before & the other three variations are nothing 2 get excited about. THQ's big contribution 2 the world of Tetris was their attempt 2 have a Story Mode. The Minos' sun is going 2 "go nova" & it's up 2 you 2 save their civilization by using Tetrions 2 open gateways 2 other worlds. Oooohhhh...how enthralling!

What it all comes down 2 is this: the player plays six different versions of Tetris. They have 2 achieve Rank 11 in each of the Tetris games. That's it. There is an opening & closing FMV & that is the whole story. What's the point of that? Yeah...I don't know either.

It goes without saying that the only people who should have bought this game are those who absolutely, positively needed a Tetris game 4 their Xbox. Otherwise, please be patient & see if a developer out there actually has the courage 2 revamp the Tetris platform & come out with another winner like "Tetrisphere".
