Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer

This is the best surfing game ever. Which, we all have 2 admit, is not the greatest accomplishment & and of itself. It is, however, still a fun game. There are around a dozen real-world waves, each modeled 2 look like the real thing. There are scores of moves 4 each surfer, & a fair amount of unlockables - outfits, boards, beaches.

This is not a simulator (go do the real thing if you want 2 be a "surfer"). As previous reviews have stated, think Tony Hawk on the water. The waves last forever, but there are a few closeout sections that need 2 be navigated.

Graphics have held up pretty well since there are essentially only two objects - the surfer & the wave. Sound effects are typical 4 this genre: generic splashes during moves & screams of terror upon a wipeout . Music is great & I never got tired of it. Ranges from trance 2 reggae 2 rock. All very appropriate.

Very worth looking into especially given the prices of used xbox games.

I like surfing better than skating & this delivers. The graphics & controls are pretty sweet & there are tons of unlockables. If you like surfing this game is awesome.

I never thought I would buy a surfing game -- being from New York city with no access 2 a surfboard let alone a wave. But I thought I would give this a try & I'm glad I did. There's enough complexity that it's got staying power, while being a relaxing game 2 play at the same time. The graphics are great & the controlls are well designed. If you're interested in playing something that doesn't involve killing, & has a sort of zen - you & the wave kinda vibe, then get this.

I have been surfing over 15 years & have played just about every surfing game made. This one is BY FAR the best surfing game ever made. I got Transworld Surf & returned it the same day... pretty graphics... [BAD] surfing mechanics.

I went 2 my surf buddy's house & played Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer & it rocked! It really FEELS like you are surfing, & the waves are spectacular. Someone mentioned having 2 save dolphins & wait 2 get money? That is the wrong game. This is all about surfing... surfing... surfing. You can do all the classic surfing moves & more. I was finally glad 2 have a game where you can do a decent off the lip / snap.

If you're into surfing, this is THE title 2 pick up. Rent it... if you like it... buy it... & maybe they'll put out some more.

First of all i didn't thnk this "game" is wort calling a game. i would have put no stars if this thing would let me. .. You don't even get 2 surf. all it is is saving dolphins. & there is a very long part in the game were you have 2 sit on a curb & wait 4 a guy 2 bring you some money. it took about 2 days 4 me 2 get past that part. ..I beat this gme in three days includng the time it took 4 that guy 2 bring me that money. do not buy this game. it is a waste of time, & money.if yo decide 2 by this game, you'll be regreting it 4 the rest of your life. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!

Expecting the same-old trick-based console game? Forget it, & prepare 4 rich gameplay found all too rarely. Pro Surfer's scenario development alone breaks it out from the pack. The game's beach loading screens that feature Slater's voice-over inviting you into the scenario & its entertaining, attainable goals set a new standard 4 the genre. Pro Surfer's superb graphics & mood-setting background music ensure you'll have your way with the waves.

One caution: The dozens of maneuvers listed in the manual can be daunting. Fortunately, Pro Surfer provides a clever tutorial 2 ease you into gameplay & soften the relatively steep learning curve.
