After 4 years it's still the best!
I have went out annd bought every Sims on console, from The Sims 1 2 The Sims 2: Pets, & guess which one was never beat? The Sims 1, of course. Why did EA just decide 2 do everything their own way?

The Graphics are actually pretty good but I have seen better. They still have that over-head bird's eye view, not exactly a first person's perspective of view. Nevertheless, it is still good enough. You still can see a lot of jaggies that were left over from the Ps2 version. The objects aren't that bright.

There seriously was a lack of objects in this game. Only 4 doors & 5 windows. And close 2 50 miscallenous objects. Really should have put more work into the objects & build mode objects. Oh well, who can blame them? They had 2 do a lot of work making a completely new game.

The Skins are actually nice. Way more skins than in the PC version. And some that I would love 2 see in the PC version. They were a lot more creative with the skins in this game than they were in the PC version. That makes sense, since we can't just download skins off the internet. The Wii might be able 2 do that! Sorry, I just had 2 say that.

For kids there was a pathetic amount of objects & skins 4 them. I guess it's because nobody really cares about them since they really don't do much in the game. They seriously should have given the kids way more interactions, but it is fun seeing them play tag & run all over the place... really cute. There aren't many interactions 4 kids. The kids are extremely limited in this game. They just stand around the place crying over some people who didn't talk 2 them.

The careers... ehhhhhhhhhh... not really great since there are ONLY three jobs which was a disappointment. What about climbing career tree? That was a challenge a lot of people liked in the game. It was hard enough getting promotions since sims seem 2 find a way 2 make us really angry by just finding something really small that we could easily walk over & stomping there & shouting some gibberish. The only careers are, The Entertainment Path- Be a Waitress at the beginning, The Daredevil Path, be a Bungee Jump Instructor at the start, The Military Path- Be a Recruit at the beginning.

And 4 some reason, I just don't like the capitalized letters 4 the name. I know that's silly but when there's this menu saying "Your funds are high, LEELA's moods are not, why don't you get some objects 4 LEELA 2 get her happy?" it just doesn't match. I know it's silly & extremely insignificant but 4 some reason it bothers me. But oh well, at least there are names!

I would have had given it a 3 but..
You all probably think I have already reviewed the sims 4 gamecube.. But I haven't.. Most of my reviews were by my sisters.

First of all. The sims bustin out is a hug improvement 2 this game.. But there is NO play the sims mode in the sims bustin out.. REALLY stupid. There is only free play. I bought this game so I could actually play the SIMS that started it all.

And second of all. I think they really should abandon that pathetic free play thing. People like making their own neighborhoods. Not just play a neighborhood that was already premade.

This game is really good because you can have babies, pass on your genes, design your own characters (there aren't many optio ns 4 the face customization though) & they have a lot of cool clothes that they didnt put in the sims bustin out.

I have 2 say. The neighborhood mode is better than the get a life mode. Because get a life mode is fairly boring. You don't actually see your sims move 2 a new house.. The T.V. will just go black after you completed every single goal in that house & then you will see your sim standing on the sidewalk of their new house & then their new roommate will say something.

And also, I have 2 say.. The day dream sequences really didn't make any sense whatsoever. You will be in a mansion & then your sim will say something like "What the .... am I doing here?" & then either Roxy or Randy will pop up from a puff of smoke & then Randy or Roxy will make out with you even if you don't let her you guys will automically fall in love & then Randy or Roxy will want you 2 play with them in the hot tub that they have at the corner of the room.

Well that is all as far as I can remember.

So Great, so FUN, & so creative, Maxis, how could you have had changed that title?
I love this game so much, I am really tired of Maxis's stupid "new projects", They shouldn't change the aging process, having babies, & neighborhood options, I wish that they made the sims 2 ALMOST exactly like this,

In the sims 2 you live with yuor "roommates" which has no knack 2 it, this one, you live with your mom, which makes more sense,

Next time, Maxis, take a hint & don't change what the people love, idiots!

Cool Game
This is game is so fun! It's kinda boring at the start because you have 2 live with your mom but after you beat that level, the next house is pretty fun & it also unlocks play the sims mode. Get a life mode is fun (that's where you start out with your mom) & it has two player games & stuff. The play the sims mode is way better because you get 2 have a whole neighborhood & get make houses & families. Here are some codes 4 this game!:
get 2 the cheat code menu- press L & R buttons at the same time from here you just type the codes
all objects are free- FREEALL
unlock all two player games, locked items & skins- MIDAS
unlock first person view- FISH EYE
unlock play the sims mode at all times- SIMS
all thoses codes work too! this was a really great game you should buy it!

The Sims is one of the world's most popular PC games, & now it's coming 2 your GameCube! Customize your Sim's appearance 2 a new level of detail

The Sims has much in common with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater: There's a great emphasis trial & error, it encourages personalized solutions 2 problems, & overall success comes down 2 both balance & timing. Also, like the Tony Hawk games, The Sims is a very addictive game.

Players micromanage the lives of a family of virtual people & influence the outcome of their lives, be it success or something akin 2 a nervous breakdown. The bestselling PC version of the game has, in recent years, been upgraded with elements like parties, pets, & vacations, but this iteration is closer 2 the basic formula.

You start the game living with Mom in a one-story suburban house. You are immediately presented with certain life tasks, such as fixing the TV & making lunch, which are aligned with the skills you'll need 4 the game's main challenge--keeping your sims in balance on eight conflicting categories. For example, eating will have an impact on your sim's hunger rating, but it will also impact his bladder rating. You'll have 2 make sure that he keeps himself & the house clean, that he sleeps 2 restore his energy, & that he also has time 2 keep himself entertained. The free will option lets your sims coast a bit, & you can also save time by stacking tasks together. Time passes at the rate of about one minute per second in the game, but you can fast-forward sim time when you need to, such as when they're sleeping.

The controls are justifiably complex, but adjusting 2 them is not difficult. You see your sims from an overhead perspective that you can both rotate & zoom. You direct their actions by moving a line cursor 2 where you want them 2 go or 2 what object or person with which you want them 2 interact.

The game is surprisingly funny. Neglect your sims & they'll shout & wave their arms 2 get your attention. Allow one's energy 2 get too low & he or she will likely collapse & sleep right where they were standing. When that happens, Mom is likely 2 serve them dinner on the floor.

Gamers may find that it takes a while 2 get the hang of The Sims' style & control scheme. Stick with it & you may find real time fast-forwarding by. --Porter B. Hall --The text of this review refers 2 the PlayStation2 version of the game.

Pros:

  • Interesting, open-ended gameplay
  • Lots of quirky humor
  • Two-player split-screen option
Cons:
  • Can be frustrating 4 those unfamiliar with strategy games
  • Controls take some getting used 2
  • Long save times
