The Gamecube gets Pokemon!
This game tickled my fancy from the get-go. Since I didn't have the option of owning Stadium 4 the N64, I purchased the next-best thing. I was initially blown away. I had never seen my Pokemon in 3d before, & my jaw dropped when I first saw them in a battle. Don't get me wrong, there are flaws in this game, & the premise might be a little too dark 4 younger Pokemon players, but I was searching 4 a little more grit & grime in my Pokemon taste, & this game fit the bill quite nicely. I REALLY miss the sounds that the Pokemon make, saying their names & whatnot, but I can overlook the little flaw & see the game 4 the Pokemon enjoyment that it really is.

Pros:

It's Pokemon in 3d!
Graphically superior 2 Pokemon Stadium
Sounds are good during battle sequences
Transfers from Ruby/Saphire are possible

Cons:

No trademark sounds from your favorite Pokemon characters
Gritty, dark..you're kids might not like this version

Overall:

Great game 2 add 2 your Gamecube collection, & great game 4 any Pokemon fan 2 enjoy. Get it's sequel as well if you're a collector of all things Pokemon.

Pokemon
My review is going too be short & to-the-point.

PROS:
-Good Graphics
-Nice controls
-Lots of hidden Items
-Its a Pokemon game!

CONS:
-Unfair Enemys. The computer always have a huge advantage over you. For example, in one battle they crushed my with FIVE CONSECUITVE horn drill attacks (which is an automatic ko that normally has about 30% accuracy) & EVERY SINGLE ATTACK of mine missed.

-Bad enemy design. The enemys (the admins at least) are clad in HORRID eyesores. 4 example, Nasoucr, or whatever his name is in a purple spandex bodysuit, red skirt, white spikey hair, & pointed blue shoes.

-I feel like Im playing a beta version. It feels like this game is off a demo disk.

-No wild pokemon. Enough said.

Primitive animation.. but it's really pretty good
Pokemon Colluseum is the first 3D RPG in the Pokemon series, & is also the first one 2 feature an ...um... "dramatic" plot. The plot is REALLY pretty good.. if you can figure out what it is. For those of you having trouble with this, here is the plot:

THE INTRO SEQUENCE EXPLAINED: You are Wes (or whatever you want 2 call him), some dude in wearing some bizzare blue robe-thing. You are a member of Team Snagem, the evil organization in Orre, the region of the game. You end up betraying Team Snagem, & steal their "snag machine", which is used 2 steal Pokemon from other trainers. You then drive your oversized motorcycle 2 a little restraunt in the middle of the desert.

MIROR B: Who is this guy, anyways!? He is a member of the evil organization CIPHER, who was earlier using Team Snagem 2 capture Pokemon 2 turn into Shadow Pokemon. You might have noticed how some enemies have the titles "CIPHER ADMIN" or "CIPHER PEON". They are members of CIPHER too. The game does not really explain this, & knowing this can really improve your experience of the game.

Okay, that sums up the plot.

The game's graphics are very interesting. The areas & the Pokemon are very well designed, & often look very cool & are smoothly animated. The people are a whole different story, though. They are very low-res, & their animation is very wretched 2 say the least. Their running is very odd, with their legs sorta instantly switching between sides, & everything else is ridiculously simple linear animation with only a couple of keyframes (In English: It's simple & jerky animation.) But, there's somethign about the animation that just seems 2 add a different ambience 2 the game, though.

For gameplay, most of it is flawless, except 4 a few glaring faults:

1. It uses save points.
2. The doors don't close.

Okay, maybe #2 is a bit trivial, but everyone agrees that #1 is a horrible mistake.

That sums up my review. I hope you find it useful in playing and/or buying the game!

Okay
I am a serious Pokemon fan; I have all "standard" Pokemon games up 2 Emerald, & I am definitely planning 2 get diamond and/or pearl. I am absolutely enchanted with those games, but somehow this one doesn't quite cut the cheese. The animation's great (awesome, actually), the plot's okay, but it just doesn't work as well. This game is okay overall. The plot is all right, but sometimes I find it harder 2 figure out than the other Pokemon games. I didn't like how all battles were double battles; that got old after awhile. Speaking of battles, somehow in the other games I never got sick of repetitive battling, at least in the plot, but on this game I did. Double battle after double battle after double battle. That was really the biggest mistake in this game.

The concept of purifying Pokemon is interesting, 2 say the least. Actually, it's kind of neat, but it always bugged me 2 have 2 "snag" Pokemon from innocent trainers & keep them forever. The other interesting thing is there is another human character, 4 the first time in Pokemon history, that is controlled. I just found that interesting. In fact, I'd probably rate this game a four in fun if there weren't so many double battles. I like double battles okay, but I found that it can be tough 2 raise your Pokemon up really fast. But one great thing about the battles is that you can rebattle trainers over & over again, without any weird devices. I guess they had 2 do that 2 make up 4 the game's lack of wild Pokemon. Y'know, 2 give you some way of leveling up your Pokemon when you've battled all the trainers you're currently supposed 2 be battling. One major flaw is connected 2 that; if you didn't know you could rebattle the trainers, your Pokemon might get weak in comparison 2 the current trainers. In that sense, this game can be diificult 2 get used 2 after playing good ol' Red & Blue 4 so long.

Overall, this game is all right. Te 4 in overall is 4 the cool animation & stuff.
