Loved it but..
I ordered this on October 30 & it arrived 5 days earlier than it was supposed too, which is good. I used 2 have that game in 2004, but now that I got it again I have an Xbox 360 & since I knew it was a great game, I ordered it.

Today I received the game, put the game disc in, & when it showed the "Xbox" sign it said "The region code does not match the region code on the console. Please enter a disc with the same region code".

I was so disappointed! My favourite game ended up 2 not be region-free!

I LOVE THIS GAME.
Go buy it, just don't forget 2 get rid of D.O.A. Ultimate 1. It stinks!

HELLA AWESOME FIGHTING 9.5 OUT OF 10
Dead or Alive is still one of my favorite games 2 play because it's just so damn good. Dead or Alive 2 has solid visuals that really show the Xbox's tech at its best along with some of the sickest fighting in gaming, along with the most lucious ladies(closely followed by Rumble Roses). Dead or Alive 1 is still solid, but it's the weakest link in this awesome package. The visuals haven't been redone & the fighting still lacks. But Dead or Alive still has some of the best fighting in gaming, & nothing will ever change that because it will always be awesome. If you love fighting games you'll this excellent package.

DOA 2 Hardcore
I have the PS2 version of this game & I thought it was pretty good, not as good as Tekken but still good. What I really wanted 2 write was that the original DOA was released in the United States on PS1, I own it & it sucks by the way.

As good as any other top fighter, just nicer graphics.
DOA ultimate is a good fighter. It is probably third when compared 2 its contemporaries, Soul Calibur II & Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution. I personally feel that including DOA 1 was useless, but some people like it. If you are a fighter nut & have never tried DOA I'd say get it. All you need 2 remember is as soon as you open it go 2 the place in the manual about the counter system, & learn it well. It is the key 2 success. It is easy 2 some people, hard 2 others. Like in real martial arts, you need 2 be able 2 determine the angle of the attack before it gets far, the differences in the game being high, mid, & low, like other fighters. Train your eye in this & DOA 2 ultimate won't be impossible, but still a challenge.

I am a martial arts buff, so my only complaint about DOA 2 Ultimate is the lack of realism. The counter system is about as close as it gets 2 real martial arts. The Ninja characters (why do we need 3 of them?) are the most prominent example. This is no big deal, since every single fighter ever made has some unrealistic stuff in it, even Virtua Fighter 4. It just serves 2 make things interesting. It probably has 2 do with the popularity of martial arts in Japan. When you spend your life practicing the real thing 4 an hour or so a day, a little fantasy in your games is welcome.

If you like fighters, buy it. It is among the best, which is close enough.

Dead or Alive Ultimate brings fantastic fighting action 2 the world. This collection beings together the classic Dead Or Alive with Dead or Alive 2 -- then adds Xbox Live support. Fight other DOA fans around the world & enjoy the new features & locations as you use each character's combat skills 2 fight your way 2 the top. You'll also learn the answers 2 questions posed by the endings of many fan favorites.
