iriver 20 GB PMP-120 Portable Media Player

I've had this product 4 about 3 years! I took it everywhere I went & just watched Cowboy Bebop & Firefly on it. It works like a portable hard drive. You just drag & drop! Well videos you have 2 convert first. It has it's own speaker, a stand, & is generally EASY 2 handle! My only complaint is that its a little bulky 2 take 4 a jog or whatnot. Also the user interface takes a little getting used to. But I mean it didn't take much time 2 understand how it all works.

I have had this 4 a few years now. It is outdated, but it does what it is supposed to. The sad thing here is that Iriver used linux 2 create this, but when challenged 2 provide the source the made a pretty weak effort. Thus this product never reached it's potential.

I use it 2 watch movies & listen 2 music when flying. I built a AA battery adapter 2 extend the play time & recharge. So like I said it works. I bought another one on the bay 4 60 & it works fine. Like I said if we could have gotten all the source 4 the rom & added some of the fine software that exists 4 embedded linux it could have been a sweet deal.

bought this 4 my son last year. It is the best of the best. He has had no problems with it & stilluses it.

This mp3 player comes extremely well equipped with anything I could ask for: MP3, Radio, Video, Pictures, Voice recording, Line in audio, WMA, huge screen & more.

I just wanted 2 point out 2 the guy that gave the PMP a bad review because he couldn't get an AVI file 2 play that AVI files CAN IN FACT BE ONE OF MANY DIFFERENT FORMATS. So unless a video player actually supports all the formats, you'll run into this with any player. And unless the company pays licensing fees 4 certain formats, the support will be shoddy.

At least iRiver products don't artificially restrict your freedom 2 use different formats by only allowing you 2 play wmas & mp3s. There are other formats out there that are free that manufacturers avoid due 2 the pressure 2 implement DRM as a means 2 restrict your experience as an end user.

Basically, if you use a Windows-based product you're supporting a group of people who actively work 2 take away our digital rights. Which, hey, I've done it too. I forgive you.
