The first two titles in the series by EA Games are The Sims & The Sims Bustin' Out, but make way 4 number three, The Urbz: Sims in the city.
In The Urbz, you guide your Sim through life in nine very diverse culturally different districts, where you have 2 walk the walk & talk the talk. As in its two predecesors, in The Urbz, you have goals 2 achieve, bills 2 pay & promotions 2 obtain. The differences you'll find in this game are in the jobs you work & clothes you buy, which are district specific, & the other Sims you meet & interact with.
Another difference is that you have 2 build up your reputation. This is achieved by meeting & befriending as many different Sims as you can & learning their specific social interactions. At the start of the game, you must choose what district 2 start out in. By completing your goals & building your rep, you unlock other districts 2 visit & work in.
The main goal is 2 build yourself up 2 have the highest rep in the city, so that everyone wants 2 be your friend. This game is fun & simplistic without being too easy. Plus, after you beat it the first time, you can always go back & play as someone different, giving this game replay potential.
On a scale on 1-10, I give this game an 8.5. Sim-fans should not miss out on The Urbz!
Rating: 5 of 5 Great Variation on Sims
If you like The Sims, there is a good chance you'll like this variation on that theme. I just thought I'd add that this GC version loads much faster than the PS2 version. I played the PS2 version originally, but after I let a family member borrow it & they returned it unplayably scratched, I bought it again, but on the GC, since I found out the oppressive load times are much less oppresive on the Gamecube.
I wrote another review at the PS2 one, which, at least 4 the first year or so, was pegged/stickied 2 the top.
Rating: 4 of 5 A good addition 2 Sim fans collection
in this game you create a character, like any sims game, but the twist is that they have a quirky new city inspired style. the point of the game is 2 go 2 different cities, meet new people, & do some strange but funny jobs 2 gain money & points. in each city you have 2 dress according 2 what the style is 4 that city, if you don't you can't get into parties & the residents won't trust you. the music in this game is really good. i found myself bopping my head 2 the music. the graphics are good, too. they are colorful & fun. there are a lot of objects & cool clothes you can buy in each city. i like this game a lot. & i recommend it 2 all Sims fans. it is one of the best.
Rating: 4 of 5 kids love it

Rating: 2 of 5 Deserves an one
I should have given it an one but there were sleek & sharp graphics. But guess what? This game is so friggin boring. You press some buttons 2 get money! You don't even have 2 retrieve anything! How fun! Which ones 2 click? A B Y X? This game is. C-R-A-P. Poor poor little maxis, making games that we don't like lately. Get a hint & use what we actually want, not your little "urban & stylish" ideas. Sims 2 gamecube was HORRIBLE. Urbz was DEPRESSING. The sims bustin out was BLAH. See? Games that we don't like lately. Poor maxis.
One of the reasons this game S-U-C-K-S is. You just walk around in a city doing nothing except 4 talking 2 people 2 raise your reputation points. And guess what? That is boring. E-X-T-R-E-M-E-L-Y boring. Because it's like interacting with the toilet. You just see some movements & stars. Boredom.
Or you can work. YAY! WHICH BUTTONS TO CLICK?! A B Y X? How fun. More like how D-E-P-R-E-S-S-I-N-G. What happened 2 you, maxis? Retards. We want C-H-I-L-D-R-E-N & N-E-I-G-H-B-O-R-H-O-O-D-S! And T-W-O S-T-O-R-Y houses! I think Maxis is going 2 eventually start inventing games where you DON'T get 2 build the sims at all. Sorry, Maxis. At least it was fun 4 a while!
And P.S. the spelled out words were 4 any people from maxis who might see this. Because, Maxis.. You obviously are NOT G-E-T-T-I-N-G it.
