Presenting Lego
I saw this game at my cousin's house. I decided 2 buy 4 my house. I have a good Nivda card that runs with no problems. I enjoy this game. You get 2 play through Episodes 1-3. You get 2 buy characters. The funniest part is the movie clips. These clips are like the movie. I cannot wait 4 Lego Star Wars 2. HIghly Reccommend this game!

Great Game Especially with Wired Xbox 360 Controller
I just wanted 2 share some experiences that I had with both Lego Star Wars & Lego Star Wars 2. I purchased both games some years ago so I'm not sure what the disk 1 issue is about from the other posts. Both games were purchased 4 my older son when he was around 7 years old & he absolutely enjoyed the games. I had a flight joy stick that was recognized by the games & he used that 2 control the characters. Both games installed without problems. It did take a bit of time but the installations were without problems. Eventually he outgrew the game & I uninstalled the games from both laptop & desktop computers.

My youngest son now is 6 years old & heavily into Star Wars so I reinstalled both games on the same laptop & desktop computers. Both installed without issues. My wife had concerns about my youngest son using the keyboard control & carpal tunnel (he didn't have the strength/coordination 2 use the flight joystick). I ended up buying a wired Xbox 360 controller because I read that it was more compatible & supported more PC games. The wired Xbox 360 controller was purchased at a local retailer 4 $40 but Amazon had it on sale 4 about $30 . . . needed the immediate gratification. I have 2 mention the 360 controller was of good quality with a long USB cord. Better quality than a PS2 or PS3 controller.

The Lego Star Wars 2 game recognized the 360 controller without problems & mapped the buttons without intervention. The Lego Star Wars game was a bit different. The controller wasn't recognized properly on my laptop installation i.e. only keyboard control was available. My desktop computer initially recognized the controller but I accidently selected default in the controller section (distracted by kids) & controls reverted back 2 keyboard. The game would not recognize the 360 controller after that mistake. I ended up uninstalling & reinstalling the Lego Star Wars game but the same problem . . . keyboard control only 4 the desktop computer. I did a bit of searching on the internet & discovered the problem is deleting the file, SWLEGO.BIN, in the directory of the Lego Star Wars game & then the game will recognize the Xbox 360 controller.

I have 2 mention the button mapping on the Xbox controller is slightly different between the Lego star Wars & Lego Star Wars 2 but it is acceptable & my son adjusted accordingly. Having the Xbox controller certainly brings a new level of game play & control 2 the game. My 6 year old absolutely loves both games. The keyboard control is confusing & not conducive 2 game play. Spend the $30-$40 4 the wired Xbox 360 controller. You may find a used controller at your local Gamestop store.

Last thing, my computer specs. Desktop: 1.8 Ghz, 768 MB RAM, 256 MB VRAM Nvidia FX5500 discrete graphics card. Laptop: 3.4 Ghz, 1GB RAM, 256 MB VRAM ATI 9800 Mobility discrete graphics card. Both computers are Pentium 4s & they are very very old system (desktop 2001 & laptop 2004). If you have kids & plan on buying a computer, don't be cheap & spend the extra money on a dedicated graphics card! This will save you & your child some heart ache. The intel integrated chip is limited in its capability. I'm running the game on lower resolution on both computers & they work fine.

I'm considering the Lego Indiana Jones & Lego Batman games but have some concerns about the DVD emulator issue (copy protection) as I have an external DVD burner 4 my desktop & laptop. Both Lego Star Wars & Lego Star Wars 2 are excellent games & I highly recommend them. Good luck.

Doesn't always work on Vista!
My son plays this game at a neighbor's house & loves it! I bought one 4 our house & it will not work on our computer - which is new, has all the gaming "stuff" necessary, but runs on Vista. The company support says, "Sorry, it doesn't always work on Vista!!".

Funny, my neighbor has Vista & it works fine there.
