Sony CCD-TRV338 Hi8 Handycam Camcorder w/20x Optical Zoom

Recently, my old TR81 (first Hi8) from Sony broke- the AF did not work any more. Of course the new Sony Hi8 338 is light years ahead of my almost 15 years old camcorder. The Hi8 standard still produces very good picture quality 4 the price. The new HD quality camcorders are $2000+. For me I will stick with the Hi8 until the HD prices come down & when I get a HD TV as well. This is a great value camcorder 4 taking family moments.

This is one of the smallest full featured Hi8 camcorders I
have used, yet seems robust. I like the 20x optical zoom
and the option 2 use very high (990x) digital zoom. A remote is a feature I miss 4 TV viewing & transfer. Buy a larger battery.
