Neopets: The Darkest Faerie

This is a very good game 4 the first Neopets game. It has an extremely large world, full of secrets & special items. The bosses arent that challenging, but other than that its a pretty good game. I would highly recomend it 4 Neopets fans, & even if you arent a very big neopets fan, It is somthing neopets fans & non neopets fans can enjoy. The game is full of side quests that are both challenging & sometimes fun. The music is very magical & is similar 2 medival music on some parts. The music is just perfect 4 any neopets game. Like I said, I would recomend it, & enjoy!!!

I cannot begin 2 explain how great this game is! Firstly, it starts off with two our two heroes & main characters: Tor & Roberta. These characters are easy 2 relate to: They simply have a dream. And with these dreams, they travel 2 far lands 2 stop the Darkest Faerie (Where the neopets creators come from, this is how they spell 'Fairy') These lands vary in many ways, & most are similar 2 some we see in the real world!
The game is wonderful, a highly original plot & great 4 your tween. Yes, your TWEEN. When they say ages ten & up, they mean it. The end of act 1 may have them a bit scared, but when you end up in act three, your eight year old may be out. So if you have somebody under ten BEGGING 4 this game, either firmly tell them 'no' or acomponay them while playing some parts of the game. Trust me, this game will get anybody under the age of 10 frustrated & scared.
There is some glitches, one MAJOR glitch you should be aware of: Do NOT save in the Hall of Heroes in the beginning of act 4. You shut off your station, guess what? You're back 2 hearding your little sister's whinneys. YES, this glitch restarts your entire game!
Overall, the game was great & a fun expierience. You may have tough time in some parts, but looking up a game guide will be helpful & once you finish it once, most likely you'll fly through it if you choose 2 play a second time. But I think that the game inventors wanted 2 make us see past game play, & wanted us 2 see the valuable lesson we've heard oh so many times, but maybe after this we'll listen: Anybody can follow their dreams, anybody can make it happen. This game is the symbol of hopes & dreams.

I love this game, it has been one of my favorites & I can even play it & I am not good with video games.
The only down side is it gets dark & my eye sight can't see in the dark, we lighted screen & it was better.
It is a great family game that our whole family really enjoyed! We are so glad we got it.

I am in my mid twenties & endure a bit of teasing from friends about owning this game. Each time I get teased, I turn the game on & my friends change their minds & ask if they can try it.

The game has a few glitches here & there, I played through once 2 find them all, & now I can avoid them easily. I would recommend saving frequently.

I can see how this game might be a little scary or intimidating 4 younger children, & I would recommend parents play through once before letting their children play, or at least supervise the first play-through.

I have been a big fan of Zelda 4 a long time now, & I constantly wish it were available on the PS2. This game comes pretty close 2 it though.

And keep in mind folks, this game is based on a CHILDREN'S WEBSITE. If you are disappointed in it 4 not being adult enough 4 you then you are expecting something that Neopets has never been.

Having been an adult Neopets addict since the web site's early beginnings I really expected more from this game. From a RPG veteran's standpoint the graphics are very primitive, but that's because it was created 4 the PS One & had a late release.

You really need 2 download a free guide online 2 navigate the game because there are sidequests, hidden secrets & many things that will stump you along the way.

Things in this game can be annoying depending on your patience level. If you aren't a jumping game fan it can get frustrating. And without listing any spoilers I will say there are aspects of this game that will drive you crazy until you figure them out. If you are a Neopets fan you know that's the norm but some kids new 2 2 the genre might not have the patience 4 this game. It sure tested mine.

The boss fights are fairly easy until chapter three (for me it was forget getting past the Hissi without a cheat.) It's really more about strategy & which character you use.

Overall it was a good attempt at a first game 4 Neopets & it fit in with their online storylines but I prefer their website. It's a good game with a lot of play hours if you are still enjoying your Playstation 2 & want 2 add 2 your collection.
