worth playing if you haven't yet
Load times are significantly reduced on a fast pc, & thank god, they were the bane of the original xbox version.

I guess you could ask 4 more...
Although this game did not accomplish all that it set out 2 do it was a great game. The only reason people could be upset with the game is because of the higher expectations they would have had.

The gameplay is easy 2 pick up, the experience points are easy 2 figure out & a very fun aspect along with the multipliers & strategy involved with all of it. The bets you can make about each mission make it more exciting & harder 4 intense gamers. On the other hand, you can save often & gain a lot of experience 4 those who are just looking 4 a fun experience.

Not as much in the area of sidequests as I would have liked but the ones you can do are usually fun. This game was very innovative & if you haven't had the chance 2 play it hurry up & get it before Fable 2 comes out!

Fable is not bad, but nothing special.
Pros: Fun, Zelda-like combat
Natural feeling levelling system
Nice graphics
Decent character customization

Cons: Really cliche, boring story with flat characters
Quests are unoriginal, boring
Marriage is a pointless, underdeveloped gimmick
Character interaction shallow
Magic overpowered
Too easy
Way too short

Do Not Listen 2 Peter Molyneux!
If you have been listening 2 Peter Molyneux, you know Fable as a non-linear RPG where your character changes according 2 your playing habits with tons of rival NPCs, a world that changes according 2 how you play, & plants growing in real time. He also said it would be the BEST RPG of all time!

The development teem must want 2 murder him, no wonder they lock him in his office during work (this is true).

Fable is far from what Peter said it would be, but the end product is also far from bad.

Graphics. Good graphics, even though the character models do look very cartoonish. Spell effects are especially good. But it does feel like they used this engine 4 black & white 2, or vise virsa.

Sound. A great soundtrack, good weapon & spell effects. As 4 the voice acting..."The people of Albion are imigrants from every concieveable point of the British Isles"...That sentence covers it, all NPCs have a heavy British accent.

Gameplay. The combat is great! It fells very believeable & fun. But the game is all about how you progress from little kid 2 an etremely old battle veteran in 11 hours, this system is actually pretty good, you never notice the ongoing transformation of your character, & he will look appropriately good/evil depending on which path you take. As 4 non-linear, that is true, but it is not open-ended, & 4 the most part you are following a predetermined path, with little else 2 do.

Length. Dissapiontment, it only takes about 10 hours 2 get through the whole game in one go, of course, you will want 2 go back in & do it again. It's not really long but the experience is increable.

Story. What would an RPG be without a story? Well, Fable has an excellent story. (No, I am not going 2 spoil it! Play it 4 yourself).

All in all, Fable is a great game with gorgeous graphics & a great storyline, but it's a little too short. You could get away with renting it, but mark my words, you will want 2 play it again.

Graphics 9/10
Gameplay 10/10
Sound 9/10
Length 6/10
Story 8/10
Stability: It's Peter Molyneux's work, its all so extremely polished you can practically see your reflection.

Overall 8/10 - Impressive

Fable 2 will be even better!

Interesting title from the makers of black & white
Originally bought this game 4 a class, but I was immediately engrossed in the game-play & logged 15+ hours on it. It features a simple enough third person interface & is really quite enjoyable 2 play.
Combat gets a tad repetitive sometimes & the choices that you are able 2 make are over-hyped, as your alignment can be readily changed & there are no serious game-play differences between the two extremes.
The story is compelling & has its twists & turns, & the dialogue often contain hilarious innuendos & jokes.
Its a shame that you cannot customize your hero's physical features & replaying the game a second time 2 try alternative choices actually turns out 2 be extremely dull as not much of the storyline changes.

Overall its a great game 2 play through the first time.
