Rhem 2 (PC & Mac)

I bought this game because I ran out of games in the Myst series. I'm a big fan of the first Myst & enjoyed all the others. What I like the most is: puzzles that depend on logic & that are interconnected, non-linear game play (no levels, just wandering about!), very little character interference (the first Myst was perfect, the last few had too much interaction), & a feeling of "mystery". Rhem II has all of that. But people who like me are looking 4 a new Myst should know the differences: less of a back-story (basically, this guy tells you 2 look 4 this thing & leaves you a few messages 2 help you along), more mathematical puzzles (one puzzle had actual algebra (!) but the rest responded 2 good, old-fashioned draw-it-in-my-notebook & hope I find a clue), & less cool scenery (it's an older game, but even so the graphics don't rival any of the Myst games).

A warning 2 Mac users. This game works with both Classic & OSX but does NOT work with Intel chips. So I played it on my older computer with OSX but my newer laptop with OSX can't read the disk.

Beware of Got Game as a company. I purchased Rhem 2 in 05 4 eMac. They sent windows version, I returned what they sent & never received money or mac version or any acknowledgment at all. I did not purchase through Amazon which was my first mistake. They would have taken care of me. Food 4 thought.

I really liked the puzzles in this game as much as I liked any one of the Myst series of games. I was entranced from the start, just like a really good book, I couldn't put it down. The only thing I would downgrade the game 4 is the graphics, they don't come close 2 anything from Myst. Visually it is not stunning. Mentally it is very pleasurable.

If you love well thought-out, difficult puzzles & care little 4 storyline, then Rhem 2 is perfect 4 you. If you're looking 4 fancy graphics & a storyline, then definitely look elsewhre. This is easily the best puzzle-focused adventure game outside of the Myst series.

I have played all of the Myst games, Alida, Aura, & the two games in the Rhem series, & Rhem 2 is easily the best of the non-Myst group.

I received the Game with in the estimated ship date. I'm still playing it. It's a very good game. I'm sorry i didnot receive the other RHEM game.
