Chessmaster 9000

Super good chess game, has extraordinary playing bots that respond extreamly well. You will not be disappointed. Highly reccommended! AAA+

I have used chessmaster around 12 years ago & the chessmaster 9000 interface is still the familiar old. However, I ran in 2 an issue which I remember running in 2 12 years ago as well. In the middle of the chess master session, my computer freezes. Looks like the software is really power hungry. My laptop is not all that great 4 running this type of a game. However, I did not expect it 2 freeze my laptop regular basis. Once in a while would have been ok. I am working on this issue now & will update my review based on the outcome.

This is the only Chessmaster game I have owned.I did not buy the latest version based on Amazon reviews. The bottom line is I like it. My chess ability being what it is, I will never even come close 2 beating it. I recomend it.

If you enjoy spending hours fiddling with software that doesn't run properly, searching every possible website imaginable 2 help troubleshoot that software, & reading a 40 page PDF file hoping 2 find a morsel of useful information on installation, then Chessmaster is the game 4 you. A colossal waste of time. I have purchased many other games & had no trouble installing & running them, but this one is pure frustration. I managed 2 get a few false starts with this game which merely let me watch the introductory video that tells you how great the game is. Funny thing is, that's the only part of this software that worked. Now I get 2 find out how difficult they will make it 4 me 2 return it 4 a refund.

Chessmaster 9000 fails 2 install the complete package. I bought two of them, returned one, the unopened one I got 4 my kids. Maybe it would work on an older version of Windows than XP, but I wouldn't bet on it.
