Lexar 1 GB JumpDrive FireFly USB Flash Drive ( JDFF1GB-431 ) (Retail Package)

I used FirefoxPortable on this & found the speed adequate. It just stopped working after about 18 months.

I've had the Lexar 1GB Firefly 4 a few months now & have decided 2 use it as a back-up storage device only; I do not use this device 4 transporting documents/data that I'll need 2 transfer or update regularly, because it is very, very slow. Currently, all of my saved documents/files take up about 50MB of storage space. It takes roughly 20 minutes 2 transfer all of this data onto the Firefly. So, 4 regular usage, quick transfers & portability, I use another flash device.

For $9, I am satisfied with this device as a means of storing my documents & files. However, if you will need a flash drive 4 regular/frequent use, I'd suggest you consider other options.

I purchased the Lexar Firefly 1GB from the student bookstore at my University 4 only $14.00. I use it often & it works perfectly 4 all of my papers & text documents. Anything larger takes some time 2 load & interact with though.

I was disappointed by the speed issue as I hoped 2 use the flash drive with portlable firefox & other small, usb drive based application. The device is far 2 slow 2 do this though.

Since it is really only good 4 storage of small files I would suggest buying one of the fireflies with smaller capacity. If all you are doing is storing text files the smaller drives should do & are a better value.

I have had several USB drives & this one is by far the most convenient. The clear cap connects nicely 2 a key ring & the drive can be quickly removed 4 use. I highly recommend this drive 4 anyone who wants 2 carry a flash drive with them.

I really can't begin 2 describe how slow the transfer rate of the Lexar firefly is. The transfer rate makes it nearly unusable 4 anything but a few small files. It can take literally HOURS 2 transfer 500 MB if it is a bunch of small files you are transferring. It is a little bit faster with fewer larger files. However, I recommend looking 4 something else. I am very disappointed with my purchase.
