Quicken Personal Finances 2007 for Mac

I was wary of trying this when I saw all of the bad reviews, but after buying & using it 4 4 months, I don't regret purchasing it. True, it seems a little disjointed, but once you remember that you use the program by using the top menu bar & do your navigation that way & through the little windows on the screen, one gets used 2 it. But remember, this software wasn't written 4 Leopard. I had no problem what so ever using it.

I purchased this product as a gift 4 a friend who just switched 2 Mac. I have been using this product on my Mac since 2006. I use it because there is no real alternative on the Mac (sorry iBank just doesn't cut it yet, I have tried it). Intuit has shown no committment 2 keeping the Mac version of Quicken alive, which boggles my mind given the market share Mac has gained amongst consumers over the last three years. After all is said & done it is a little slow on my Intel Mac since it is not a Universal Mac app, but it works, it does everything I need it 2 & I would still recommend it over running Quicken in Parallels or VM Ware on the Mac.

I have used Quiken 4 Windows in the past & have always been very impressed with the way the product worked & how easy it was 2 use, but I have 2 say I was extremely disappointed in the Mac version of Quiken because it was much less sophisticated than the Windows version & the majority of my Banks & investment accounts did not allow 4 downloading or internet access with the Mac product.

for years i've been working off of two laptops... a pc 4 my money & a mac 4 everything else... after ten years i finally got tired of going back & forth (i've moved 2 several pc's & different versions of quicken over the years without a single problem) ... i read all the reviews 4 quicken 4 mac (i don't have a single bad thing 2 say about the PC version. Couldn't have imagined life without it) & really didn't find a whole lot of users happy with the mac version, but i figured how bad can it be?
simply put, it might be the single worst piece of software i've ever used... it has practically none of the features you find in the pc version... it's clumsy, hard 2 navigate & is just one step above using a paper check registry...
i could go on forever about how much i dislike everything about the program, but i hope you don't make the same mistake i did... if you're only using it as a check registry, you're fine...
bottom line, it's just awful

My Quicken Mac 2005 data file was acting strange when I would download security updates. After updating security prices, many of my security prices would disappear altogether making a mess out of my data file. I tried all the fixes as per the help file & nothing worked. I decided then that I should upgrade 2 Quicken Mac 2007, the latest version as surely Quicken in the two years since, would have fixed whatever the problem was that was occurring with my old 2005 version. After purchasing the 2007 version & installing it, I was having the same problem. There was no difference in the 2007 version. I then decided 2 call Quicken Support. They explained 2 me that they would help me, but that there was a substantial charge 4 telephone support & that I should utilize their no cost email support. I tried that & they explained that the support I needed could only be done via their telephone support. I telephoned again & they refused 2 help me without charge. I guess my ten years plus as a loyal Quicken customer is not important 2 them.
