Microsoft Visio Standard 2007 Version Upgrade

Good product 4 constructing/designing flowcharts. As with all Microsoft programs it could be more user friendly. Lacks a true password protection 4 files...anyone can remove the protection.

I own Visio versions since the very first version before Microsoft bought the company.

Visio is a great product 4 makng organization charts, floor plans, diagrams, strip maps etc.

This latest version is designed 2 work in Vista & with the latest office product versions.

One thing I noticed is that this version of Visio lacks the current office 2007 interface. So it kinda of feel like it is one version behind.

I wish that microsoft would finally go ahead & just make Visio a permanent part of the office package. Also they need 2 just have one version. Why do they have the profession edition that comes with a few extra templates (none of which are worth the price). I have own both versions of Visio & I find it very frustrating that if you want 2 do a quick electrical diagram you have 2 buy the professional edition. The professional edition offers very specific type templates such as electrical, electronic, architecture etc.

The software shipped rather quickly. I had one minor installation problem where the upgrade would not install due 2 previous version I own.

I had 2 go 2 the microsoft web help site. Fortunately I found why it would not install & fixed the problem. I tried upgrading from a very old version of Visio on CD ROM & the software couldnt not find the dll file 2 validate. I got an install error message. I went 2 Microsoft help & discovered I had 2 point the validation tool 2 another directory on the CD ROM. Not sure why microsoft didnt build it into the installer.
