Acer Ferrari 5000-5832 15.4" Laptop (AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Processor, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, DVD Drive, Vista Ultimate)

What can I say it's a Ferrari The only drawback is that it has vista. There were some drivers that needed updating. Other then that it is an awesome machine

I have had my Acer Ferrari 4000 4 about a year now, I have 2 tell you, not one single problem with it. I have had other users in my company with less expensive Acers, & some of those have died, but you get what you pay 4 with a $600 laptop. However, we have had no issues sending them back in 4 repair...usually new motherboards. Ferrari is very sturdy & durable, very fast. I am running Vista Ultimate & Office 2007, no problems. Every feature works perfectly, bluetooth, wifi, everything. I would recommend a Ferrari 2 anybody, but not a less expensive Acer in the $600-$800 range. Beats all the Dells, HPs, & IBMs we have in the office.

I've had this laptop 4 ten months now & have had no problems. I recently upgraded the OS 2 Vista & it works like a charm.

Acer is complete junk. Lots of stores are trying 2 push Acer because of the really high margins they get compared 2 other brands of laptops & desktops. I have had 2 Acers quit in the last year & a half, with Acer refusing 2 warranty either one. The first, my laptop, ran so hot that it actually burned the palm of my hand, red burn mark & everything. I called Acer support who told me that's normal. Well, I work at Sybase & have used laptops at work exclusively 4 the last 8 years. I know how hot laptops get, & third degree burns is not normal. A month later, the laptop's AC adapter fried. Again, Acer support refused 2 do anything. So, I bought a new AC adapter. Two weeks later, it fried also. Called back Acer support telling them this was not normal. "I agree" was the guys response, but since I was now ONE WEEK past the one year warranty, "TOO BAD!" They refuse 2 do anything even though my problems started well within the warranty period. Other problems with Acer is their build quality. Check how much the keyboards flex, screen hinges wobble, etc. Do yourself a favor, STAY AWAY FROM ACER.
