I have a hc21 camera that my son dropped & broke. I cant find that one any more, I assume this is the upgrade or the replacement in the line 4 that one. My hc21 was excellent 4 the video quality I took. Mostly vacation vids & kids videos. I am not that much of a snob that I need 2 have the DVD type. I actually like this idea better because I admit I have not researched the dvd type recorders, but I know that DVD's always seem 2 get scratched around my house & if my only video was on the dvd & its scratched then your stuck right? You don't have that problem with a tape. I was not thrilled with the mike in windy weather, but if I covered it a bit it was better. Anyway this is only 99 bucks at circuit city & the batteries 4 my 'old' one fit it so I don't need 2 buy anything new. If this is as good as the other camera I had its way worth 99 bucks. Go get yourself one today like I will!
Rating: 4 of 5 Great 4 the money.
This is a great little camera 4 the money. I would highly suggest it 2 anyone on a budget.
Rating: 5 of 5 I love it!
I love this little booger! Seriously, 4 the price I paid, I'm very pleased. I did my homework. I would have liked a microphone jack, an accessory shoe & AV Input but didn't want 2 spend over $300. Perhaps after a few months, I may upgrade 2 the DCR-HC96 but 4 now, I'm happy as a clam. I have a Toshiba laptop with a built-in 4-pin firewire port & I purchased a generic firewire cord 4 all of $5 including shipping. I took some short videos of my boyfriend eating breakfast & within minutes I had them uploaded 2 Windows Movie Maker & had a ball editing them. Fun!
