Samsung SC-D372 MiniDV Camcorder with 34x Optical Zoom

This is an awsome little camcorder, shoots great picture, has good options, & has a great zoom, i would have given it 5 stars, but mine broke after 2 weeks, but i sent it in 2 get repaired, & they already shipped it back

so Life Is Good

I bought this camera thinking it was a great valu 4 the price, but when you record anything (interior & exterior) you are recording all the motor noise from the camera's mechanical system.

I try 2 reduce the noise by editing, with pinnacle, & that work if nobody is speaking.

The image quality is good, the camera look great & is tiny, you can carry it very easy.

I don't recommend this camcorder, spend a few bucks more & get another brand

I am not an expert at using a camcorder by any stretch of the imagination so I approached this product's mass of settings & controls with somewhat wary an approach. A family vacation up 2 New York & Canada earlier this year gave me the opportunity 2 put it through its paces & it passed with flying colors. I also was able 2 hook it up 2 my DVD recorder with a firewire cable (not included) & transfer it easily onto regular DVD. One thing that surprised me (given the reviews here concerning lighting) is that my camcorder works great in poor lighting. Watching it with my travel companions as I transferred the home video 2 DVD they remarked that the shots at an aquarium were brighter than they had been 2 the naked eye & brought out more detail. One troubling detail about the camera is that it needs 2 be hooked up 2 recharge the battery (which itself lasts about an hour). However I bought a TechFuel Premium Advanced Desktop Battery Charger as well as more powerful batteries by TechFuel (both given as accessories on the Amazon product page) & they work great.

I did some research before buying this from Amazon. I found it at my local Circuit City 4 100 dollars more then I paid 4 it! That convinced me 2 buy it; its not HD but it is digital so thats pretty nice. It records on convenient tapes & also can put it straight 2 a DVD with my Toshiba D410 DVD recorder. Battery life on it can be better, but thats 2 be expected of the stock battery. When I really want 2 use it 4 a long time I will get a longer lasting battery. Great camera 4 what I need 2 use it for; just recording family memories & vacations all 4 under 150 bucks! Amazon was great in getting it 2 me too, fast & everything was in order I had it running within 5 minutes of unpacking it. Love it.

The good: The samsung SC-D372 is a great camcorder under the right light conditions. If you film during a bright day on the beach or park, you'll enjoy great high quality video, widescreen, image stabilization, great sound, & excellent zooming. Very good 4 recording "open field" sports games, such as baseball & football (during the day).The battery lasts around 80 minutes, unless you rewind. Rewinding it lasts 10 minutes.

The Bad!!: When the lights are low, the cam pretty much sucks. The image is grainy & blurry. Its so blurry you can't recognize anything around. You can only transfer your videos 2 your computer, if you have the right video card; or converting it 2 dvd with a dvd recorder.
