Jabra BT5020 Executive Bluetooth Headset

I bought this as a replacement 2 my Jabra BT250v, which had just worn out. My decision was also based upon the reviews in Consumer Reports Magazine 4 blue tooth headsets.

I was disappointed when I opened the box & did not find a belt clip-charger like the one provided with my BT 250v. Jabra provides minimal documentation, but I figured it would be simple enough 2 pair this unit with my Treo 700W. While it was easy enough 2 pair with my Treo 700W, I have problems with the unit remaining connected 2 my Treo 700W. There have been many times I find myself holding my Treo 700W on speaker phone because the Jabra BT5020 will not pair.

The unit is very comfortable & I was surprised at the new design which had replaced the ear jels on my BT250v

If I had 2 do over again, I would opt 4 a model with better pairing & a belt clip.

This is only my 5-6 bluetooth headset (jabra, motorola, plantronics, etc) so I know by now what I like & not so here it is:

Good:
Light, talk & standby time, noise isolation, sound quality.

Bad: (this is the only reason why it does not gets a 5)
It has a weird ear piece that keeps falling off. The only way 2 use it is 2 superglue it 2 the base. If you need 2 do it use a small 2-3 dots so you could eventually just cut it off & put another wihout having 2 toss it away.

If you want it 4 the function, & can live with superglue just don't glue it while in your ear :), this is a great headset.

Great reception when I can get it 2 stay in my ear. Transmission is poor.

Unit is easy 2 setup & just as easy 2 use. Only problem I found was keeping the earbuds inside my ear. Looks like the movable earbud isn't long enough. Other than that it's a great unit.

I was worried about the many mixed reviews this device has gotten. But it's been the best headset I ever had. No flimsy spring 2 keep it on my ear. The buttons are simple, solid, & just work. Sound quality is excellent - I can hear & be heard better on the headset than on the phone handset (HTC-s620). Battery life is excellent. One valid complaint I read about had 2 do with the little rubber fittings falling off the earpiece. This is true. Not a big deal 4 me though. I love this headset. Would definitely buy it again.
