Mindjet MindManager Pro 7 Single License

Overall, this product is fabulous & I can't imagine running an organization without it. It is so easy 2 easily put together ideas & create presentations that allow individuals 2 "learn" the material, not just see a presentation. The company, though, is not particularly supportive about users problems with the software. Following a recent upgrade, my software became unusable, & Mindjet has not been particularly helpful.

I know many people swear by this product & other products of its type. I am not finding it particularly useful. I guess it's just me -- perhaps I haven't worked with it enough, but I seem 2 do as well without it.

I could not make it work with MS Vista premium on my Toshiba laptop. But does work with my desktop XP system. Has no interoperability with OpenOffice. Only with MS office.

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I am very new 2 MindManager & 2 mind mapping in general. Yet, MindManager is quickly becoming one of my most valued tools. I am a freelance Web designer & developer & I have 2 juggle with a lot of information. I also need 2 brainstorm & generate ideas quickly 2 solve my clients' business problems.

MindManager is helping me organize & manage my projects in a more efficient mannner than I ever could before. I have tried a lot of mind mapping applications before deciding on MindManager & some of the reasons I chose it are that, the data you add 2 your maps in MindManager is meaningful. Icons have meaning beyond the mere visuals, notes enhance & enrich the core ideas & task data help keep 2 your real world schedule. But even beyond that, this data can be exported out of MindManager in several other useful formats with all this important information or metadata intact.

You would be surprised at how many mapping applications tout MS Office integration 4 example when the only thing they can export 2 a Word document is an image of the map embedded in the document & nothing more. MindManager goes way beyond that & exports the data with styles, icons & images in an outline format. Some of my clients would find it strange 4 me 2 give them a mind map as a project planning deliverable but I've had compliments on the quality of projects outlines I have simply exported 2 Word directly from MindManager.

In short, MindManager was a very sound investment 4 my creative business & I would recomment it 2 anyone with similar needs.

I like MindManager, & use it regularly. However, when I had a severe problem after a powerloss, it took them almosts a week 2 email me back (there are NO phone numbers 4 help on the website) & even then, all they sent me was a pro forma message suggesting I reinstall -- nothing at all about the problem or the error message I was getting from their program. So buy it, but be careful if you want any support -- they clearly don't want 2 support their users.
