great & fun 2 play
I enjoy playing this game! This Disney edition is actually more challenging than the regular DDR game that I own. If you or your child(ren) are fans of the Disney Channel shows, then you'll enjoy dancing 2 familiar Dinsey Channel songs. The only problem that I had with this game is that the arrows on top are very light (I prefer the top arrows 2 be darker so it is clearer 2 see when the arrows moving up reach the top arrows in order 2 better time when 2 step on the dance pad).

fun & good exercise
I am very pleased with the dance pads. You just have 2 be careful when putting away. After a month one of the pads has a slight tear in it. Overall it is alot of fun & great exercise. The kids & I love taking turns with them. Even my 3 year loves it too.

Fantastic hit with the girls & it's 4 TWEENS not adults!!!
This was a HUGE hit with my 9-year-old & her friends! This features songs from Hannah Montana & High School Musical, as well as other songs from current tv hits on the Disney Channel. Also, the scoring system is easier 4 kids 2 comprehend than the other DDR products (SuperNova, etc.), which are geared towards adults.

This product is clearly geared toward tweens, not adults! I'm not sure why the reviewers before me all failed 2 grasp that from the packaging. It is 4 tweens who love Hannah Montana & High School Musical, & it is a great DDR product 4 their age group!!!

Also, just 2 comment on another prior review, the one with the suggestion that it should have included music from "Cars" & other Disney classics -- this is clearly marketed 2 the tweens that dance around & sing 2 Hannah Montana & High School Musical, & it's NOT intended 4 5-year-old boys who watch "Cars" & "Lion King"!!!!

Fun.
I'm not sure if this has happened 2 other people but when I tried 2 load this game with a generic memory card it would get stuck while it's trying 2 read the memory card. When I switched it 2 a PlayStation brand memory card it worked fine. That's the first time I've seen that happen. Other than that it's a pretty fun game & unlike the other DDR games I own, this one, my daughter can relate 2 better. We have lots of fun & also get a lot of exercise playing it.

Good 4 newbies, not 4 DDR masters
This game is clearly aimed at introducing younger kids 2 DDR. Its Disney theme & overly-cute look will draw in Disney Channel fans who are new 2 DDR, but hardcore arrow-stompers (like yours truly) may get bored quickly.

This game was developed by Keen Games, not Konami. There are a lot of little quirks that may frustrate experienced players, but won't bother newbies. Among them are: grading based on stars instead of letters, Marvelous steps being weighed much heavier than Perfects, arrow colors not reflecting their timing well, & songs swapping jarringly between the song selected & a "background" song during song & option selection.

The songs are not bad. The steps were created by Konami, & there are some surprisingly fun stepcharts 4 the Disney Channel songs. The Konami songs are mostly repeats from earlier games. As 4 the Disney Channel songs, whether you like those is purely a matter of taste.

I have several major complaints with the game. One, the background videos 4 the Konami songs are simply awful. The faces in "Candy" are distracting; a person's eyes tend 2 snap 2 a face when it appears. The video 4 "Brilliant 2U" is such a dreadful whirl of color & motion that the song is nearly undanceable! Why in the world did they replace the original Konami videos? I recommend turning the brightness way down on background videos, or turning them off altogether. Much worse, though, is the fact this game supposedly has 40 songs, but 4 practical purposes there are only 37. According 2 Keen Games, the only way 2 unlock the final three songs is 2 get a full Marvelous combo on each of the first three levels. That's all but impossible even 4 DDR champions - as of this writing I have seen no postings on any of the major DDR boards saying that anyone has managed it yet - but somehow the target audience is supposed 2 be able 2 manage it? Shame on them 4 not giving those songs a timed unlock as a fallback option.

The magical world of Disney hits the dance floor with an entirely new Dance Dance Revolution game on the PS2. DDR Disney Channel combines the mega popular DDR dancing phenomenon with excellent songs from some of the hottest & most popular shows & characters from the Disney Channel Network.
