Western Digital 500GB My Book Office Edition External Hard Disk Drive WDH1B5000N

This is a great product. I plug it into my Belkin usb hub & then into my laptop. It comes on every time I turn on my computer. The software is very handy & backs up every time I save something on my computer. A previous opinion misunderstood the software & thought it was only 4 30 days. Not true, you have 2 register it with the the product number on a sticker with the instructions. I did call them once & they were helpful. It comes with 30 days of phone in help.

The Western Digital 500GB Book was received from Amazon on time & in excellent condition.

Works well with my AMD Athelon Computer System (actually, should have gotten the 1TB Book).

Only "downside" is that the packaged Software shipped with the Book does not seem 2 be completely compatible with my Vista 64-bit OS (as 2 the "Button Manager"), but my OS recognizes it & having an extra 500GB of storage is great.

Great drive, my second one. I bought it in an attempt 2 set up a remotely located backup on one machine 4 two others machines, no luck. I can't figure out the software, & the WD assistance in even more confusing.

On the my book web site they say that the Office edition comes with backup software.

They forget 2 mention this is a trial version.

Even after you buy it you can only use it on one computer, so much 4 the 'Office' aspect.
