The first unit arrived with a loose drive lock, it would not engage securely. Amazon sent replacement, which was sealed but not packed correctly, with a rumpled manual & used cords. Called LaCie & asked about the serial number, they admitted it was a customer return that had been sent out 4 sale as a "new" device! The second unit would not format 4 Safe 100 & overheated, fan would not come on. Tech support agreed it was faulty, but the only exchange terms LaCie offered would have me waiting until after July 4 4 a replacement, & no pick up service. I say No Way - enough is enough. I would not trust another LaCie drive after this experience.
