Canon DC310 DVD Camcorder with 41x Optical Zoom

I purchased this camcorder 2 video tape ballroom dance practice in my house. It has worked great 4 this purpose! I set it up in the corner, turn on the video, we dance & then we hook the camera 2 the TV 2 watch & review our dancing. I haven't had any trouble, & it only took me about an hour 2 figure out how 2 use it. It is the first time I have operated a video camera.

I bought this camera in August 2008. I was tired of my old one. It's really easy 2 operate. I love it because its very light weight & it can fit right into your bag but I would suggest a camera bag 4 it. I haven't taken pictures with it yet. It has a great zoom lens on it. It doesn't shake. If you love filming like I do you will love this camera. I would suggest it 2 anyone. It's a great price too! I watched the Dvd that I had made on my Dvd player & the videos were very clear. This is a real nice camera. One more thing the battery has a nice long charge 2 it. I only had 2 charge it twice since I've had it.

We purchased this camcorder after looking at reviews in various places, in particular, one well known consumer product magazine. Since we wanted something basic, but a camcorder that would give us very good quality images, we counted on the Canon. It is easy 2 learn 2 use if you are a novice like we are, & is adequate 4 home videos. Taking into account the savings extras from Amazon, we purchased it at the lowest price that we researched on the internet, & at local electronics retailers. We highly suggest purchasing an extra battery, & the battery charger (stick with the Canon brand or you can be burned with the cheaper "replacement" claiming 2 be as good). Amazon shipped it in two days at no extra charge....a "special" at the time. We purchase from Amazon often because of their excellent customer service.

The camera went on a two week cross country vacation the month we bought it. I was able 2 film from inside caves 2 a wedding. The only down side was that the low light still photo's were not as clear as the movies.

The overview states that this includes 'USB 2.0 hi-speed terminal 4 quick video transfer'. Read the detail section & there is no mention of a USB port, because there is none! You need 2 buy the DC330 2 get that feature. That would not be so bad if the R- RW would work in any of our PC's or DVD players. Granted the DVD players are older modules but the PC's are less than 1 year old. Maybe if your PC writes 2 R- or you stick with none rewritable DVD's you would be happy with this camcorder (didn't waste any more money trying this). This module is being returned & replaced with the DC330.
