My IBM-Lenovo ThinkPad T61 came with 160 GB 5400 hard drive it was noisy & slow, so I decided 2 buy the 7K200 more space + increase in performance is exactly what I was looking 4 so I purchased it & after installation I immediately noticed that my notebook became at least 15% faster, the palmrest felt cooler & no more clicking sound & I haven't noticed any increase in power consumption I highly recommend this product.

Hitachi Travelstars are fantastic performers & highly reliable. But don't spend your money on this soon 2 be obsolete model. On May , 200, Hitachi announced the 7K320 - an updated version with a huge, 320GB capacity, that is not only larger & faster than its predecessor, but also consumes less power. Clearly retailers like Amazon are trying 2 clear out their old inventory before revealing the new model. Don't be a fool - wait 4 the new one.

Get this fast serial ata drive, an IBM Serial ATA drive caddy, & Acronis True Image. Then you can clone your hard drive 2 your backup drive in a snap. Works great. Nice & fast drive. I wish is was BIGGER.
